Green Dock Beetle Gastrophysa viridula

The Green Dock Beetle, also called the Dock Leaf Beetle, is a metallic green Leaf Beetle usually found on dock or sorrel. The adult male is 4mm long and the female 7mm, the latter often seen with an enlarged abdomen in summer. It is native to much of Europe through to western Siberia and common in most of the UK. The light can vary the rainbow of colours on the iridescent green.
