Anthia fabricii, sometimes called the African Predator Ground Beetle,
a confusing name since many (or most) of the Anthia ground beetles are native to Africa, is native
to East Africa. Like the others in its genus it is flightless but a fast predator of insects on the ground. It is also able to spray acid
to deter bird/mammal/reptile predators or to immobilise its insect prey. It grows to some 4cm long.
