The Anchomenus dorsalis Ground Beetle is an attractive Ground Beetle with a metallic green
head and thorax and green and red elytra. It is 6-9mm long (females larger than males) and is prevalent from Europe through to Central Asia.
They live in groups of their own species and sometimes (above) with Bombadier beetles and mimic the latter both in colour scheme
and by releasing a volatile chemical if threatened (not as strong or explosive as the Bombadiers).
