There are several species of Short-winged Flower Beetle, all tiny. Two of the most common in the UK look similar
and have similar habits: B. urticae, shown, has light legs and lightish antennae;
B. glaber, not shown, has dark legs/antennae.
The adult beetles, less than 2mm long, are found on many types of flower including nettle,
hogweed and knapweed. The larva of B. urticae need nettles.
