Violet Chafer
The Violet Chafer, also called the Amethyst Flower Beetle, is native to fragmented patches of ancient oak forests of Mediterranean Europe and the Near East, including Spain, southern France, Italy, Greece, Balkans, Ukraine and Lebanon. It is a recycler of plant litter, the larvae eating leaf litter and the violet adults, 20-28mm long, eating ripe fruit.
