The Copper Chafer is a flower beetle prevalent over most of Eurasia from the Canary Islands in the west to the Russian Far East and eastern China in the east, including much of Europe, the Middle East, Central and South Asia.
In northern UK, the subspecies P.c. metallica, with a stronger green colour, is present. However, the coppery subspecies shown above is P.c. olivacea of Mediterranean France.
