Known in Europe as the Four-spotted Chaser and in North America as the Four-spotted Skimmer, both male and female dragonflies are brown with yellow dashes along the abdomen. Above is the male but the female looks similar. The four spots of its name are two on the leading edge of each wing. Many thanks to Rachel Isherwood for the photos above and below.
