Camel Cricket Ceuthophilus spp.

The Camel Cricket shown is one of hundreds of crickets sharing this common name, named after the arched back. They are a type of Cave Cricket. They are all flightless. This one is native to California on the US West Coast through to Sonora, Mexico. It is some 2cm long without antennae.

It eats mainly leaf litter, other vegetation and fruit.
