The Laced Moray Eel, also called Honeycomb (as is the brown Ocellated Moray of the western Atlantic),
Black-spotted, Tessellated and Leopard Moray (the last is also a name for the Dragon Moray),
is native to reefs and rocks of the western Indo-Pacific from the east coast of Africa to Japan and the Great Barrier Reef.
The body pattern is variable with some having a white or yellowish background with black spots and some appearing black with white meshing.
It grows to over a metre long and is said to be up to 3 metres.
There are two different individual morays and species above (Laced and Spotted) - and three in the centre image (Green).
