Black Neon Tetra Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi

The Black Neon Tetra is native to black waters of the Paraguay Basin of southern Brazil. It has two full-length lateral stripes: a luminous white (sometimes looks pale blue) stripe above a black stripe. It has luminous red upper eye rings.

They grow only to 3-4cm long and are shoaling fish that hide among vegetation and the neon luminosity allows them to see one another.
