Mexican Tetra Astyanax mexicanus

The Mexican Tetra is the fully-sighted, pigmented version of the Mexican Blind Cave Fish. It is native to surface waterways of Texas, especially the Rio Grande, and to eastern Mexico.

It shows a dark lateral line (used by its blind relative to feel changes in movement and pressure) on silver-grey. They grow typically to 12cm long but can exceptionally reach 17cm.
