Black Stripe Hyphessobrycon malanostichos

The Black Stripe Tetra, only fairly recently described by science, is native to tributaries of the upper Tapajos basin in Brazil. Males have develop a darker and more red colour when breeding. The fish grows to some 3.5cm long.
