The African Long-finned Tetra is native to brackish estuarine waters of West African rivers from Gambia to DR Congo.
They grow to some 12cm long. They have long dorsal fins, but not as long as the Congo Tetra, reaching only the small
adipose fin; tail fins are not elongated or feathery.
In the tanin-stained, murky waters they use their reflective eye rings to find each other.
