The Gold-spotted Snakehead is native to the Brahmaputra River forming the border of India's Assam, southwest China and Bangladesh.
It is also called the Golden Cobra Snakehead in the aquarium trade.
It grows to some 40cm long and has bright orange and black colouring. Like other snakeheads, it can breathe air through
a primitive lung to supplement oxygen from poor water and also long enough to make short journeys overland.
