Rainbow Shiner Notropis chrosomus

There are several "shiners" native to freshwater of North America, those shown being the Rainbow Shiner native to Alabama and, possibly, Georgia.

It grows to up to 8cm long.

Males turn a deep purple-red when spawning to attract mates.
