The Chili Rasbora, also called the Mosquito Rasbora, in the imaginatively-named genus Boraras,
is endemic to forest peat swamps and blackwater streams of southwest Borneo. A tiny fish, it grows usually to 1-2cm long,
but exceptionally can be nearly 3cm. Males are smaller and a more vibrant red colour, although both can be a duller rusty pink
and both have a black central stripe. Eggs are laid on the underside of leaves.
Well-camouflaged in their habitat, there are four individuals in both images above (together with Neon Blue Sunda Danio in one photo).
