The Zonobe Rainbowfish, also called Vatosoa Rainbowfish, is native to a now-protected habitat of the Lohoko River
basin in northeast Madagascar, but remains endangered from invasive species.
They can grow to 8cm long. Males grow dark red-black fins when breeding.
Diet is mainly insects which fall to the water's surface.
Like much of Madagascar's wildlife, they are endangered by habitat loss from logging and ricefields,
and from invasive species in their remaining habitat.
