The Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish, also called the Turquoise Rainbowfish, is native only to Lake Kutubu and its tributary river
in Papua New Guinea.
With its restricted range, in addition to industrial pollution, deforestation and invasive species
such as carp, it is at high risk of becoming extinct in the wild.
Males are slightly larger and more brightly coloured than females. They can grow to 12cm long.
Juveniles are less colourful.
