The Mbu Pufferfish, also called Mbuna and the Giant Freshwater Pufferfish, is native to middle and
lower regions of Africa's Congo River and part of eastern Lake Tanganyika. (The Congo Pufferfish is a different species.)
They can grow to some 65cm (2 feet) long. They have cryptic colouring and prey on smaller fish, crustaceans and molluscs.
Like other puffers, they can inflate their bodies with water or air when stressed.
In the images immediately above, an Electric Catfish appears to give a mild shock to dislodge a Mbu.
