Variable Platyfish Xiphophorus variatus

The Variable Platyfish is native to well-vegetated streams and ponds of northeastern Mexico and has been established in the wild in Florida and elsewhere globally. The male is more colourful than the fawn-olive-coloured, "live-bearer" female, often bright orange, gold, red and/or yellow, often with black blotches, but, as its name indicates, its colour is variable. They grow to 7cm long.
