Black Paradisefish Macropodus spechti

Paradisefish are gouramis - they have a labyrinth organ enabling them to breathe air. The Black Paradisefish is native to streams of Vietnam.

They grow to nearly 6cm long. Females have concave tails whereas male paradisefish can grow elaborate collapsible and expandable long tails and dorsal/anal fins, used for display and courting.
