Yoyo Loach
The Yoyo Loach is named after the markings, particularly on the juveniles, said to spell the word "Yoyo". It is also called the Almora Loach, the Reticulate Loach and the Pakistan Loach. For B. almorhae, the last is a misnomer since the loach is native to still waters of the Ganges Basin in northern India but the similar-looking relative native to Pakistan and the Indus Basin is a different species, B. birdii. Moreover, many others in the aquarium trade called "Yoyo" are another similar relative, B. lohachata, also called the Reticulate or Yoyo Loach, or other related species. The markings fade and background darkens as they age. It can grow to 14-16cm long.
