Lake Inle Loach Yunnanilus/Petruichthys brevis

The Lake Inle Loach is endemic to Myanmar's Lake Inle (particularly western shores) and surrounding plain. It is more free-swimming and socially gregarious than most other loaches.

The male is smaller, growing to 5cm long, with a bold, black lateral line; the larger female (to 6cm) has cryptic paterning and no or a weak lateral line. The species is classed as vulnerable.
