The Spotted Hillstream Loach, also called Gold Ring and the Reticulated Hillstream Loach (since many hillstream loaches are spotted), is native
to Vietnam, Cambodia and China.
They grow to some 6 cm long. Their body forms a suction cup to adhere to rocks in fast-flowing streams. Diet is algae from the rocks.
Males perform fluttering displays to court females.
