The Tiger Limia is endemic to one of the Caribbean's largest freshwater lakes, Lake Miragoâne in Haiti.
They reach 5cm long and look similar to the Black-barred (Hump-backed) Limia of the same lake.
Females are "live bearers" - giving birth to live young rather than laying eggs.
The fish is critically endangered, together with others in the lake, mainly from substantial deforestation and pollution, but also
from climate change.
