The Wrestling Halfbeak is native to fresh and brackish waters of the Malayasian Peninsula, Thailand,
Sumatra and Borneo. Like other halfbeaks in their genus, it is live-bearing (gives birth to fry without egg-laying) and has
a lower jaw significantly longer than its upper jaw (more than twice as long).
Females grow to some 7cm long and males to some 5cm. Males fight by locking jaws and may stay that
way for a considerable length of time before the loser releases and swims away - hence their name of "Wrestling" Halfbeak.
