The Borneo Giant Gourami, as its name indicates, is a relative of the Giant Gourami endemic to part of Borneo.
It is also called the Seven-striped Gourami, as its Latin name.
Adults can reach a length of over 70cm, as large as the better-known Giant Gourami. It needs to gulp air
into its lungs at times and can survive for some time out of water, breathing air.
