Bumblebee Goby
The Bumblebee Goby is a name given to 9 species of yellow and black barred small gobies in the Brachygobius genus. All are native to fresh and brackish water of mangroves, coastal streams and estuaries of South and Southeast Asia. The one shown above, Brachygobius doriae, also called the Golden-banded (as is one or more others), is native to Malaysia, Indonesia and Indochina. It grows to some 2-3cm long. It is a cave spawner: a male selects a cave and attracts a female to lay eggs in it, which he then tends and guards.

The Bumblebee Goby above, Brachygobius xanthozonus, is often referred to as the Bumblebee Fish, but is a goby inhabiting well-vegetated fresh and brackish coastal waters of Thailand and Indonesia. It can grow to nearly 4cm long. It is rare and distinct from most others in its genus (sometimes moved to genus Hypogymnogobius instead).
