The Red Garra is a cyprinid fish native to subtropical freshwater habitats of western Asia (mainly Turkey and the Near and Middle East). It grows typically to 14cm long but can be much longer. It has an unfortunate alternative name of Doctor Fish since it is used in pedicure, when hungry, to eat dead or diseased skin from human feet.
