The Gold Ring (or Gold-ring) Danio is native (as far as known) only to a tributary of the Irrawaddy River in northern Myanmar.
It is a schooling fish growing to some 2cm long.
It has been known to science only since the early 2000s. Other common names including Burma and Jaguar Danio are sometimes found.
It can look similar to some other danios including the Leopard Danio, Danio rerio 'frankei',
the Orange-finned/Ocelot Danio, D. kyathit and the Spotted or Dwarf Danio, D. nigrofasciatus.
