Lake Inle Danio Inlecypris auropurpurea (Devario/Barilius auropurpureus)

The Lake Inle Danio is one of several small fish endemic to Myanmar's Lake Inle and surrounding water bodies. They grow to 10cm long. They are endangered by multiple threats that have rapidly reduced their population including pollution, diminishing lake area (surface and sedimentation) and water quality, collection for the aquarium trade (although that also may save the species) and introduction of non-native tilapia and other fish.
