The Bronze Corydoras is native to native to shallow waters from Colombia to Trinidad and across Brazil to the
River Plate basin between Argentina and Uruguay. Also called the Green Corydoras, it looks similar to the Emerald Corydoras, Corydoras splendens,
but has a visibly shorter dorsal fin with fewer rays (and other, less visible, differences). Bronzes grow to some 6-7cm.
The Emerald Brochis or Corydoras is native to streams, pools and flooded areas of the upper Amazon in Peru and Brazil.
It looks similar to the Bronze Corydoras, Corydoras aeneus, native to shallow waters from Colombia to Trinidad and across Brazil to
the River Plate basin between Argentina and Uruguay, but the former has a visibly longer dorsal fin with some 12 rays whereas the latter has
a visibly shorter or normal cory fin with 7-8 rays. (There are other, less visible, differences.) Emeralds grow to 7 (male) to 9 (female) cm long,
large for corys; Bronzes grow to some 6-7cm (male-female).
