The Yellow-bellied Albert, also called Albert's Yellowbelly, is a cichlid native to Lake George and the Kazinga
Channel linking it to Lake Edward in Uganda, East Africa. It may have previously also been found in Lake Albert, on the Uganda/DR Congo
border and linked to Lake Victoria, leading to its common name.
The Yellowbelly part of the name relates to their yellow lower half; the upper half of the male is usually reddish
but can blacken. They grow to 7.5cm (3 inches) long. The population is classed as vulnerable.
