The Silver Cichlid, sometimes called the White Cichlid, is native to the Usumacinta river drainage
system of western Mexico.
Despite the names white and silver, it can sometimes show pastel pink and blue colours.
The larger, more colourful males are aggressive, reach a length of 30cm and sometimes develop a "nuchal" hump.
The significantly smaller females have black blotches and part bars on white/off-white.
