The Princess of Burundi cichlid, also called Brichard's and the Lyretail Cichlid, is native to rocky areas
of northern Lake Tanganyika in East Africa.
The body is pale pink with which flowing fins. It grows to 10cm long. The Daffodil Cichlid, Neolamprologus pulcher,
looks similar but doesn't have the black and yellow eye makeup and is native to the southern part of the enormous lake. Some authorities
class them as the same species.
With Lemon Lamp.
With Chequered Julie.
Diet is mainly plankton and small crustaceans. They can form large shoals and, after spawning on the substrate,
unusually they collectively care for the shoal's fry and young juveniles. (The southern Daffodil has the same habits.)
