The Lemon Cichlid, also called Lemon Lamp, the latter short for (former genus) Lamprologus, is native
to rocky shores of Lake Tanganyika in East Africa.
A slim shape, the actual colour of yellow, orange, or even pink or dark brown, varies considerably, even within populations.
They grow to some 10cm long. Cave spawners, parents form pair bonds and both look after eggs and fry.
The Elongated Lemon Lamp or Elongated Lemon Cichlid, Neolamprologus longior is a similar length or slightly
shorter but somewhat slimmer. It also occurs in a range of yellowish colours from pale to bright yellow, orange, pink and brown.
