The Redhead Tapajos Eartheater, a fairly recently described cichlid, is native to the lower Tapajos basin in Brazil.
Males have redder heads and reach some 18cm long; females 12cm. Eartheaters feed by sucking up sandy substrate, extracting
invertebrate prey or organic matter and spitting out the residue.
