The Bumblebee Cichlid, sometimes called the Hornet Cichlid - both names after its stripes, is native to Lake Malawi in Africa's Rift Valley.
Males and females are yellow and black banded, starting brighter as juveniles and darkening with age; males are
generally darker but both adults can vary to a darker or brighter shade. They grow to 16cm long and work as cleaner fish to larger species,
especially a Malawi catfish. Females mouth-brood their young.
