Amazon Cichlid Cichlasoma amazonarum

The Amazon Cichlid seems far too general and grand a name for such an insignificant fish when so many cichlids are native to the Amazon Basin. This one is native to the Amazon Basin from the upper reaches in Peru and Colombia to the lower in Brazil and Guiana, but is not common throughout. It grows to 14cm long
