The Ocellated Squeaker Catfish, named after its ability to make a sqeauking noise by rubbing its pectoral fins when stressed, is also called the Ocellated Synodontis after the toothpad at the front of the mouth of the Synodontis genus. It is native to slow-moving rivers and backwaters of North and West Africa and grows to nearly 50cm long. It is solitary as an adult and an omnivore.
