Nile Squeaker
The Nile Squeaker, also called the Wahrindi, is a "squeaker" or "syno" catfish native to waters of not only the Nile but from West Africa through to Sudan and southern Egypt. Adaptable to different water bodies and diet, it is one of the only Synodontis species to thrive in the huge artificial lake (Lake Nasser in Egypt and Lake Nubia in Sudan) created by Egypt's massive Aswan Dam.

Synodontis catfishes of Africa are known as squeakers after the noise they make by rubbing pectoral spines when upset. The Nile Squeaker is one of the largest; it can grow to nearly 50cm long.
