The Dwarf Sucker Catfish, also called Dwarf Oto or just Oto, is the name of several different species in the genus
Otocinclus and also one moved from that genus to its own, Macrotocinclus affinis, previously Otocinclus affinis,
and still called Dwarf Oto and Golden Otocinclus. All are native to rivers of South America and grow to 3-4cm long.
Otocinclus vittatus is prevalent in streams and banks of the major river basins of northeast South America
(Amazon, Orinoco, Tocantins, Xingu, Parana, Paraguay), eating algae. It congregates in schools and grows to 3.3cm long.
