The Spanner Barb is native to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Borneo. Its name comes from the T shaped marking on its flank looking like a T-spanner (or T-wrench in American English). It is also called T-barb and grows to 18cm long. It is an omnivore and spawns by scattering its eggs.
