The Sicklefin Barb, also Sickle-fin Barb, is native to the Mekong River basin in Thailand, Laos,
Cambodia and Vietnam.
A large barb growing to 40cm long, it prefers slow moving water and migrates in schools.
The "Sickle" name is after the shape of its long dorsal fin.
A small African fish, Enteromius haasianus, is called the Sickle Barb and sometimes (erroneously?)
the Sicklefin Barb.
