The Red-cheeked Barb (also called Red-cheeked Javaen Barb, confusing since the Javaen Barb is also the name of
its relative, S. rubripinnis) is native to river drainages from India to much of Indochina, particularly the Chao Phraya and Mekong basins.
It can grow to 25cm long, but is usually much smaller.
