Unlike its relative the Banded Archer, the Burmese Clouded Archerfish (also called just Burmese or just Clouded) does not live in brackish and saltwater but only in freshwater. It is native to clear, shallow water of southern Myanmar near the Thai border but far from the coast. Its hunting method is the same: shooting a precise jet of water by mouth for some 1-3 metres at an insect then swimming to collect the fallen prey from the water surface with its large, upturned mouth. It grows to some 15cm long.
