Ternetz's Anostomus, also called Ternetz's Headstander is native to the Orinoco Basin and northeastern Amazon.
The Headstander name is from the fish's habit of eating algae from rocks in fast currents while "standing" upsidedown.
It also acts as a cleaner fish, eating parasites and dead cells from other fish. It is distinguished from the Redfin Anostomus mainly by clear fins.
It grows to over 12cm long.
