The Headstander name is from the fish's habit of eating algae from rocks in fast currents while "standing" upsidedown. It also acts as a cleaner fish, eating parasites and dead cells from other fish. It is distinguished from the Redfin Anostomus mainly by clear fins. It grows to over 12cm long.
