Striped Sweetlips Plectorhinchus diagrammus

The Striped Sweetlips is a grunt native to reefs of the eastern Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. The adult is white with horizontal black stripes and yellowish fins, the dorsal, anal and tail fins having black spots. It can grow to some 40cm long. Their lips enlarge as they age.

The striped pattern and yellow highlights can look similar to the Oriental Sweetlips but there is much less yellow and the belly is plain white. It can also look similar to Lesson's Thicklips.
