White-breasted Waterhen Amaurornis phoenicurus

The White-breasted Waterhen is a waterbird native to South and Southeast Asia, from Pakistan/India to China.

Usually living in groups close to water or marshes, there are some subspecies across the range, mainly on (Indonesian) islands.

Chicks are all black and juveniles are dull charcoal without the white breast and red on the bill.
