The Red-legged Kittiwake is a gull native to the area just south of the Bering Straits. It spends much of the
winter at sea and breeds on a few islands off the Russian and Alaskan coasts.
Kittiwakes nest on high cliffs inaccessible to most predators. The Red-legged Kittiwake is similar to the
Black-legged but has slight differences in bill, head and wings and, of course, red legs.
